Ukraine update
To date we have sent 4 Articulated Lorries with Humanitarian Aid to Poland. This aid is distributed in Poland where refugees are camping and also aid is taken into Ukraine to cities deprived of food, electricity and water. The aid deliveries were made possible by several groups coming together to get the food delivered. The first load was delivered by Heart To Hand and Keyline Transport, the second and third were made possible by Pallet Express Dublin who are long time supporters of our Charity. Directors Tom Carr and Kieran Conlon both travelled out to Poland with our Dinny O Dwyer to establish a safe base and logistics to get the lorries unloaded. The forth load was accommodated by Tom Spillane of Spillane Brothers International Transport Cork.
On Monday morning a lorry left for Poland which was organised by Joe Clancy of Clancon Construction, Joe is a long-time provider of Humanitarian Aid. Earlier this month Joe delivered a load of Humanitarian into our warehouse in Romania who are now welcoming refugees.
This weekend the Heart To Hand Lorry will head out again with Humanitarian Aid for Poland and will be closely followed by Tom Spillane with his second load.
Thanks to everyone involved, its humbling to see the support the people of Ireland are showing for the people of Ukraine.

Aid delivery to Albania July 2019
Humanitarian Aid Delivery to the poorest of the poor in Albania. 28 years running this year and Kieran & Margaret Byrne together with volunteers James Byrne, Myles Doran, Pat Whelan and many more continue to support those that are forgotten in our world. Over the 28 years hundreds of loads of vital humanitarian aid have left the aid centre in Gorey Co Wexford. Kieran, Margaret their son James and Myles load every lorry to ensure what the poor receive, is of high standard and to respect the dignity of these people. We receive aid mainly clothes, shoes etc from all over the country. Margaret will inspect every piece that’s loaded and every lorry is filled with love and respect. The cost of transporting such a load to Albania is very high and we really need your help to get this load to its final destination. You can help by logging onto our website at www.heartohand.net and make a donation . The photos you see are Kieran Margaret and Myles busy at work loading the lorry and making use of every space available. The load will consist of Food, clothes, footwear, walking aids, wheelchairs, mattresses, school supplies, toiletries, soap, detergents, flour, long life milk and much more necessary aid.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this load and who continue to support Heart To Hand.
Once the lorry returns the process begins again and another truck will be filled if we have the contents and the funding.
We want to wish a safe journey next week to Keyline Transport who transport all our Aid to Albania.
Finally thank you to everyone who has kept Heart To Hand going for the past 28 years and we look forward to delivering many more loads.

28 years running April 2019
28 Years giving from the Heart To The Hand that needs.
On this day in 1991 our founder Kieran Byrne delivered his first load of humanitarian aid to an orphanage in the town of Arad in western Romania. Following a television program showing the devastating conditions and poverty, Kieran had to act. Together with his wife Margaret they set about filling an articulated lorry with food, medicine and other vital aid for the children in the orphanages. Kieran was accompanied by Pat Doyle, Enniscorthy who drove out with our second load. The conditions at that time were extremely poor especially in the orphanages.
Kieran was determined to return, and once he returned home he started filling load No 3 . On this load Kieran helped out GOAL and delivered goods for John O Shea on his journey to Bucharest.
The loads continued and the aid came from all over Ireland thanks to the generosity of the Irish people.
It was during delivery of these loads that Kieran met St Mother Teresa who recognized the work of Heart To Hand. Kieran saw first-hand the incredible work the missionaries of charity were doing and so we began working with St Mother Teresa and the missionaries of Charity.
The 6th of April 1991 was the beginning of a long road for Kieran and Heart To Hand. Today with the help of volunteers, supporters, fundraising and many friends we continue these very important aid deliveries to Romania and Albania.
Over the last 20 years we have sent volunteers to Romania and Albania on building projects. These projects continue today with new buildings and renovations.
28 years is a long time and we have covered some miles on the roads to Albania and Romania.
This work would not be possible without the support of you our friends and volunteers. Please continue to support these very necessary aid deliveries.
Thanks to Kieran, Margaret and their son James, Myles Doran and all who help with the loading of the lorries. Our next delivery is in a few weeks and if you would like to help with the costs please log onto our website where you can donate on line. www.hearttohand.net

Lorry for Albania
Kieran & Margaret Byrne are very busy this past week loading the lorry for Albania.
There is a huge amount of work in loading these lorries to ensure everything is packed right and they make the most of the space available.
This load is especially for Christmas and has 3000 Christmas shoe boxes, long life milk, tinned foods, pasta, flour, clothes, mattresses and much more for people in need.
This is one of two lorries we plan to send out this Christmas. The cost of sending the lorries is high and we would appreciate and financial assistance for the next 2 deliveries.

Thank you letter from Br Andre Marie in Albania
Dear Kieran L.M.C. for life together with his honorable wife Margaret, Pat and all in “Heart to Hands”. May this letter find you well! My heart expands to new horizons of thanksgiving for all that the Good Lord has done through you! I have just managed to get a little rest after our two prison visits and now, I feel is the best time when, I finally have some energy back and sufficient time as well, to write to you. This thanksgiving is long overdue, but as the saying goes, better late than never, and old wine gets better with age! I would like to thank God again for the Irish hearts and their great generous contributions which enabled us to have very good visits and to spoil, whole heartedly, the poorest of the poor in the mountain prisons of Kruje and Burrel here in Albania. The large contributions of “Heart to Hands” enabled us to prepare excellent packages, to enter into the cells of the men and to give each one personally a beautifully prepared package.
I had recently been studying, in the very beautiful Albanian language, the equivalent for “a series of initiatives” in English. Truly, a series of initiatives allowed us to bring an overwhelming abundant providence, into the hands of the poorest of the poor, starting with the series of initiatives, which began and continue from “Heart to Hands”.
These initiatives included sending us a new stove for wood, for our small chapel, praised be the Lord. The new stove allows us to use fewer pieces of wood and they remain much longer, saving us a lot of time, money and energy.
Thanks for the wonderful donation of potatoes! Who knows, as well as the Irish how to grow potatoes and to share them with others?
We were able to give many poor children of this area a shoebox of Christmas gifts for Christmas, all from “Heart to Hands”. Five hundred (500) Christmas shoeboxes were distributed in the few days just before Christmas, to the fever pitch joy of the children and even more to that of the parents!
A large amount of cereals, canned vegetables, especially peas, soups and the like also arrived on the load. The clothes that arrived were of excellent quality, brand new, especially for the young people.
You may be wondering what was in those wonderful packages that we gave to each prisoner in Kruje and Burrel, in the hands? There were fifteen articles in each of the packages. Each package contained: one soap, one shampoo, one pair of underpants, one sweater, a jacket, a shirt, three bars of chocolate, six amita drinks (200ml each), a pair of trousers, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a tube of shaving cream, an under shirt, two pairs of socks, and one towel, brand new! We have never had such a detailed package to give to the prisoners, with so many high quality items! Only God’s providence can supply so richly, so abundantly! We have really to thank the Lord for those Irish hearts that once more arrived to the hands of the truly poorest of the poor.
Some wheel chairs arrived and we took them personally to the Kruje prison. They asked us if we would be able to provide blankets, even second hand ones, as long as they are clean, they need a lot in the prison, especially during the cold season.
We had a beautiful Holy Mass in Kruje on the sixth of February and in Burrel on the eighth of February. We sang before the Holy Mass a version of the Canticle of Brother Sun Sister Moon of Saint Francis of Assisi and at the end of the Holy Mass, we sang the Hail Mary to a modern rhythmic tune in Albanian. Both songs were accompanied by a guitarist, by no means professional, but also by no means lacking in enthusiasm (yours truly)! The Sisters Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta sing so beautifully, especially in prison! We celebrated the memorial feast day mass of Saint Paul Miki and companions. There was a somewhat lengthy religious instruction, given by the celebrating priest (again yours truly).
At the request of the prisoners each one who came for the Holy Mass received a Catholic Calendar, prepared by the Franciscans, with Saint Anthony on the front page. It was prepared under the auspices of the rector of the sanctuary of Saint Anthony in Lac, the national Franciscan sanctuary. The month of September had the picture of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta. I told the prisoners that the liturgical year is a series of divine initiatives. The incarnation, suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus are a series of divine initiatives. This applies also to the saints. Saint Teresa of Calcutta, I told them, took a series of initiatives for the poorest of the poor. I quoted by memory the Gospel of Saint Mathew Chapter twenty-five for the series of initiatives undertaken by Mother and the entire M.C. family.
I would like to thank our friends at the “Heart to Hands” organization, in Ireland, also for the large amount of oatmeal that arrived and especially for the flour in large quantity. The flour is especially a great help to the poor people, and us because we do not buy readymade bread, we make our own in our house and that is normally how the people here in our rural area do as well.
Thanks for the many boxes of Lu crackers, excellent for soup and for the many large cans of grapefruit preserved in syrup, a lot of rice, cakes, macaroni, spaghetti and sweet biscuits. The flexible crutches arrived in a very large number, sweets for the children, rubber gloves, a modest number of athletic shoes, games for children, a lot of toilet paper, baby wipes, disposable diapers and school supplies for children, including a lot of pencils and rulers. Backpacks full of school supplies have been an overwhelming joy for the children who received them!
How can we thank the Good Lord for touching so many Irish hearts again and for furnishing us with such excellent material to the hands of the poorest of the poor? There are many people in Albania now with no food and I have been told that the majority of young people choose to emigrate, for work and school opportunities. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you wonderful Irish that you are, may your hearts always reach more to the hands of the neediest and may we be his instruments together with you!
Sincerely in Christ, humbly asking your prayers, Brother Andre-Marie M.C.

Aid Deliveries December 2016
Last night Wed 30th Nov , Two Keyline Transport lorries left Rosslare Port carrying 25,000Kgs each of Humanitarian Aid for the poorest of the poor in Albania. We wish the Keyline drivers, John Sullivan & Shane Wilson a safe journey to Albania. Their route takes them from Rosslare to Cherbourg by ferry, through France and right down to the bottom of Italy where they board another ferry in Bari and head across the Adriatic Sea to the port of Durres in Albania. From there they head in 2 different directions with the Aid and deliver it to its final destination in time for Christmas.
Aid at this time of year is essential and we were overwhelmed with the support and donations to be able to send 2 lorries! Thanks to everyone involved. The lorries contained, Milk, flour, pasta, porridge, rice, baby food, cereals, tinned foods, pampers, hygiene supplies, mattresses, ladies, gents and children’s clothes, foot ware, 4000 Christmas shoe boxes, wheelchairs, crutches, Zimmer frames, wood burning stove and many more essential items.
A huge amount of time went into packing these loads and we want to thank Kieran, Margaret, James, Miley and Pat for their diligent work

On Saturday night last Heart To Hand held two fundraisers.
On was held in Kirby’s Foxhunter Ballineety Limerick. It was a night of music, singing and comedy presented by Jim Keane and his group from Tipperary. Our thanks to Margaret Kirby and her family for hosting the night and to Geraldine O Sullivan who organised the event.
The second fundraiser was held as part of the Kube! This event was organised by a Thurles group and Heart To Hand sent a representative to compete on behalf of our charity. He reached the final out of 41 contestants and we were very proud of his performance and we want to thank him and all his sponsors who helped raise funds for Heart To Hand.

Building Projects
One of our volunteers has just returned from Albania after assessing the current list of projects out there.
This year we are concentrating on domestic houses for very poor families. The first picture above shows the ceiling collapsing due to water.
In the second picture the heavy tiles coupled with the timber rotting causes it to collapse.
There are several new houses and several new roofs, windows and doors required to make homes comfortable.
We will have a news section on this later in the month.

Projects for 2014
Already we have received requests for a new school in Albania for a very poor and neglected area. Plans are underway to help them.
We currently have 2 volunteers in Africa carrying out a detailed survey of a parish which hopes to build a large school there along with houses, community centre etc. More to follow on this………
In order to keep the charity alive we really need funding. Standing orders, donations on line etc. have all but ceased, so we ask you to please help us in any way you can. Hold a fundraiser, request a coin box, request a biro box, make a donation, host a clothes bin, hold a cake sale whatever it takes to raise a few euro we really need your help. Thank you so much.

Hold a fundraiser, request a coin box, request a biro box, make a donation, host a clothes bin, hold a cake sale whatever it takes to raise a few euro we really need your help. Thank you so much.

Aid Delivery to Albania
Our lorry has just landed safely in Albania with a load of Humanitarian Aid for the poor. Also on this lorry was our Christmas shoe boxes. Supported us with this delivery.
Once the lorry returns it will be loaded again and will return with another load before Christmas. These loads are vital to the recipients who really struggle at this time of year. God bless and thank you.

August bank holiday fundraiser
This August bank holiday saw another ‘sale of the century’ take place in Portrane, County Dublin. And what a massive and successive sale it was. Over 50 volunteers helped set up, put up, pack up and sell up thousands of bargains over the three day weekend. The weather fully cooperated and we enjoyed long sunny afternoons which helped to draw large crowds each day.Patrons had ample opportunities to meander through the huge assortment of stalls laden with books, glass and china, Christmas items, antiques, designer fashion, furniture and household articles to name a few. A highlight of the fund raising event is always the Wheel of Fortune were lucky winners walk away with fantastic prizes.....more

Food Distribution in Ireland.
Heart To Hand has been busy in Limerick recently with distribution of nutrition drinks, yogurt, rice & butter. They were distributed to several charities that care for the poor and the elderly. We have received some thank you letters which you can read by clicking here. Our thanks to Munster Logistics for their part in helping us to set up a distribution centre in Limerick. We would also like to thank them for loading, unloading, collections and deliveries for Heart To Hand. This is a perfect example of people giving back to their local community. Thanks to all in Munster Logistics.
Our food distribution continues in Dublin and around the country. What we get in we send out. To date we have never had as much as a carton of yogurt left over such is the demand for food in Ireland. With you help we will continue to support all these organisations.

Overseas Distribution
A lorry containing 22 Tonnes of aid consisting of, Pasta, Liquid milk, Tinned food, Cereals, Toiletries, footwear, Adults and children’s clothes, wheelchairs, beds, buggies and bicycles was delivered last week. It was received with great joy as the supplies have been low in recent weeks. For the recipients of this aid, it is a lifeline as they receive no government assistance, have no place to call Home and depend on humanitarian aid from Ireland and other countries. To accumulate 22 tonnes for each lorry we send out is a huge task and we really appreciate all the support and assistance we receive from volunteers and especially from those who donate either through funding or goods supplied
Building Projects
Site visits were carried out last weekend in 3 locations. Elbasan, Milot and Puke where this September we plan to construct 3 new buildings. These buildings will be used for mass, school, community events, social support etc. Fundraising is now underway and if you wouls like to contribute in any way please contact us on 086 8240978 or 0402 37260.
